What is Culturally Sensitive Working?
Culture is everywhere. In the neighborhood, at work, in the schoolyard, and behind closed doors. Everyone has ideas about it and sometimes even strong opinions. But people are different, just like the environment in which they grow up. Every situation and every culture is unique. And that's precisely where cultural sensitivity comes in. A skill that enables us to find unity amidst differences.
Culturally alert guidance
At Bureau Cultuurzaken, we act as a bridge between cultures. By immersing ourselves in the environment, the home situation, the customs, and the people. We help organizations, municipalities, the Employee Insurance Agency (UWV), and employers, as well as families, employees and early school leavers, by bridging apparent differences and working toward unity. We acknowledge, recognize and connect. With an open mind for everyone. That's where, for us, effective collaboration begins.

The Cultural Affairs Office has the courage to think outside the box. We think outside the box and create opportunities for people who want to explore new paths. For over eight years, we've been supporting young people, adults, and families facing challenges in the labor market. We're there for those who want to start over, those who are temporarily stuck, and those who are simply looking for a new perspective.
We are practical, honest, and engaged. We work with people from different cultures and stages of life, and we respect that everyone's path to growth is unique. Our coaches understand the job market, social systems, and the human side of change. We collaborate with a broad network of professionals, employers, and educational institutions, so we can always connect someone who can help them move forward. For us, it's all about movement. Step by step, towards greater freedom and independence in life.
